Welcome to Casa Pacífico in beautiful Nayarit, Mexico. This unit (Casa de Sonrisas) is one of two on the property.
Tired of the "walk to the beach" descriptions that are really several miles away? (I suppose I could walk to New York if I really wanted to!) This is a true walk to the beach property. Half a block from the beach - 100 steps (a few more if you're short!). Very calm beach at the northern end of Jaltemba Bay. True Mexican village slightly off the beaten track. Restaurants and shops a few blocks away either through town or a short walk down the beach. Close enough for convenience and all supplies, far enough away to be private and "non-touristy". Short drive or cab ride to zip-lining, jet ski rentals, surfing, mountain villages, Compostela and Tepic, or even Puerto Vallarta if you need a high-end shopping fix. But don't miss the local markets! Thursday in La Penita, Monday in Guayabitos, Saturday in Lo de Marcos. Fresh produce, pastries, candied nuts and coffee as well as local artists displaying their creations - weaving, jewelry, Huichol art!
The home itself is a one bedroom with a queen bed, one bathroom unit with a great private terrace. Sit outside in the morning for coffee, or in the evening to watch the sunset while listening to the waves and catching the ocean breezes. Lots of windows for light and air. Private entrance to your second floor home! A full kitchen allows you to eat in whenever you like but you are still close enough to town to head in to one of the outstanding cafes and restaurants. A short walk down the beach will take you there in minutes. Or purchase tamales and tortillas from the street vendors and shops in the neighborhood.
A large bathroom, built-in wardrobe, and a really roomy living space make this the perfect home base while you explore all that Riviera Nayarit has to offer: colonial buildings in nearby towns, surfing in Sayulita, jet-skiing, mountain drives, markets, ruins, hot springs, volcanos, and miles and miles of beach. You can easily explore the other towns in the area - San Pancho, Rincon de Guaybitos, Los Ayala, and Lo de Marcos. You will be about an hour from Playa las Tortugas and the turtle camp there. San Blas is another hour beyond.
All linens and towels are supplied (including beach towels). I have tried to equip the home with everything you will need - basic spices, cooking oil, bottled water, etc.) but if there is anything else you require, just ask. The property has two rental units as well as the owner's home. They all share a courtyard and garden as well as a pool. Beach chairs also available for guests.
I am located in Colonia Pescadores in La Penita. This is an authentic Mexican village, not a flashy resort town. It is a quiet, laid-back neighborhood with a true flavor of Mexico. The street is a mix of homes, small local businesses, a few hotels/rentals, a school across the street, and lovely neighbors!
If you are looking for a posh resort with non stop entertainment, this is probably not the place for you. If, however, you are looking for a place to kick back, relax away from the frenzied resorts, bask in the sun at either the beach or the pool, and drink in the authentic culture, this is definitely your vacation spot.
