We built this house as my father gave me this lot. But, it was inside the barrio. And it was not in the main street. It has only little road in front of the house. Tricycles, motorcycles and cars can still enter. Its very peaceful here.
It is fenced with wires and only 1 neighbor at left side. The others are a little bit far from us.
We have lived here during our holidays the past years, but, since we built a new and bigger one, (also for rent as holiday house )we just come here to rest and drink coffee. We don't need this house anymore, but, I cant sell it, because that lot was memorable for my father. He inherited it too and don't want to loose it.
So, Ive just decided to just rent it to all Balikbayans and foreigners all over the world.
For 100 dollars a week, for 4 persons , all inclusive , (water, electric )you can live in our Bungalow. Its just only a walk from the Town middle and near beaches as well as some tourist spots in Luzon. And your contact person is nice and friendly who knows all places in Luzon.
For 10 dollars per day, you can get him as Tourist guide. So enjoy your holiday in the Philippines.
Introducing the Folks in my Town and in other parts of the Philippines!
The Foreigners are already common for the Folks in our Barrio. They see the Germans, Americans, Japanese, Australians and the others who live there during their vacations in the Philippines. In the street where my parent live, for example, have almost every family at least a foreign son in law or member of the family who live abroad like Hawaii, Australia, Germany, Chinese, Texas, California, Japan, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Canada, England, and these people come often to their Towns as they built their houses there as well as to see their family and Town. The favorite place of many Germans!
So if you want to learn people and know the Philippines way of life, and at the same time, to see the nice places in Luzon, the biggest Island in the Philippines, I suggest you to stay in my Province Pangasinan. We have beautiful beaches, Hundred Islands, near Bagiou as well as the natural wonders of the World, the ancient Rice Terraces.
You don't have to be afraid of all the bad news about the Philippines. You'll find safety in our Town. Everywhere you'll go, either in the Banks, Malls or in any Fast Foods restaurants, like Jolly Bees or Mc Donalds, you'll find Armed security Guards , who are always ready to help you. We have also Barrio Guards( Barangay Tanod ) who watch our place, also in the night. Although, there's really, a little need of them, because crimes in our Town( or I think, outside Urban areas ) is a rarity.
We Filipinos, despite of Political intrigues and Poverty, we still remain Friendly and hospitable to our Guests. We easily laugh and our warm Smile is but, natural for us. Everywhere you'll go, you'll be greeted with honorific Ma'am or Sir. They are friendly, not only to their own Folks , but, as well as to the visitors . Seldom can you find such hospitable people who enjoy the company of Foreigners. (especially to western)Perhaps, because we were under the Spain, for longer time, the Americans as well as the Japanese.
Its easy to communicate with them, most of the Filipinos are bilingual, and the conversation in English is almost possible to anyone, anytime and anywhere.
Don't be surprised, if somebody call you, Joe, they call all White men with such name. They mean it, Joe the American.
The last years, I see and hear more Filipina Women, marrying Europeans and Americans , so interracial marriages are now common to them. Unlike before, if they see a filipina woman going out, with white man, they think her as a Prostitute. Before , if I was in tour there, with my children, I was often asked , if I was a Nanny to them. And although, the Western men look good and bright, you cant avoid them to think, that Filipinos want to go with them, just to have better life. Many of us live in Poverty !
But, well despite of Poverty, we are still fond of Feasts and love to celebrate it with dances, eating good Foods and enjoy the company of each others. The term Bayanihan is the term Filipinos use to describe the kind of common Spirit that hold us together, in good times and in bad times and we extend it to Visitors as well.
So , I invite all, to visit my country , the Philippines and see it your self . You are cordially Welcomed!
