"This was my 2nd time at Paul and Anne's lake house. Last year I only stayed for 3 nights, which was simply not long enough. I week isn't really long enough, but that's all the time I could take off of work. The first few days were chilly and rainy, but we entertained ourselves with the movie and game collections. We did venture over to the relatively new Sweetwater Farm Distillery, which is located 2.5 miles away in the heart of Winchester. Highly, highly recommend. The owner, Rob, is an interesting and passionate guy. The spirits are delicious. Check the hours before you go, though, because they are not always open. After the first few days of not so lovely weather, I spent the rest of the week camped out on the dock from about noon until the sun went down after 8. Leaving was incredibly difficult. I booked next year's visit before I even left. Yes, it's that great. The property and house have literally everything you could need. We would joke because every time we needed something (scissors, tin foil, etc.) we would open a drawer or cabinet or two and find exactly that. Forest lake is clean, beautiful and quiet. Paul and Anne are incredible hosts and have thought of everything. If you do need them, they are easy to reach and respond quickly. I can't wait to go back!"
